Добавлено: March 7, 2024

On March 7, 2024, a concert program was held in the assembly hall of the Kyrgyz Institute of Languages and Culture in honor of International Women's Day on March 8! Students of KMUK and KYYAK prepared a concert program, skits, video greetings and gifts.

For almost a hundred years, International Women's Day has been considered an official holiday in our country. It is generally accepted that its roots date back to 1857, when textile workers in New York staged the so-called “March of Empty Pots.” By their action, the women protested against unacceptable working conditions and low wages. Initially, the name of the holiday sounded like International Women's Solidarity Day, and its purpose was to draw public attention to the infringement of their rights. Over time, the essence and meaning of this day has changed a little. Now March 8 is considered the day of spring, female beauty, tenderness, spiritual wisdom and attention to the fair half of humanity. The holiday tradition also includes celebrating the achievements of women in the political, economic and social fields of life.
